Radars In Abu Dhabi are getting a huge upgrade that boasts of technology able to catch motorists driving without their seat belts on and are those using their phones while driving.
If you’re still figuring out a new year’s resolution for 2021, we recommend promising yourself not to check your phone while driving and keeping yourself buckled up at all times, as Abu Dhabi Police is installing the Artificial Intelligence-powered features across its radars from 1st January.
Per Abu Dhabi laws, motorists caught driving without a seat belt are subject to a Dhs 400 fine with four black points, followed by a Dhs 800 fine for those caught using their phones while driving.
It’s worth mentioning a whopping 22,162 motorists were caught unbuckled while driving in Abu Dhabi in the first half of 2020.
