Indian Onions Exported To The UAE Cost 50% Lesser Than Its Price In India

Given the soaring onion prices in India, people are now comparing how the same vegetable exported vegetable in the UAE costs half the price than it does back home.

In light of the latest iPhone 12 smartphone in India fetching a hefty price tag to the extent to which it would cost lesser to travel to Dubai and buy the cell, Indian Youth Congress head, Srivatsa YB took to Twitter sharing how Indian onions exported to the UAE cost half as much as the rate at which it’s sold in India.

One kilogram of onions costs INR 100 (5 dhs), compared to the UAE selling it between 2.5-2.9 dhs.

Few Twitter users saw this tweet as an opportunity to blame India’s Minister of Finance, Nirmala Sitharaman, after her infamous statement saying she doesn’t use onion and garlic at her house.
