A shop in Dubai’s Al Twar Centre was ordered to shut down hours after its grand opening after dozens of people gathered to celebrate the new venture, flouting social distancing rules.

A documents-processing centre in Dubai opened its newest store in Al Twar Centre, hosting P.V Abdul Wahab, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha and Regency Group Chairman Shamsudeen bin Mohideen. The launch ceremony drew scores of people descending upon the mall for its opening and judging by the footage, most of the attendees wore face masks but a few held their masks below their nose, defying its purpose.

What’s more, none of the attendees adhered to social distancing guidelines.
Dubai Economy Department orders shop to shut down after launch
Things got out of hand for the documents-processing shop after an official from Dubai Economy Department attended the ceremony and found attendees flouting social distancing rules.
What’s more, Dubai Economy Department revealed 10 businesses were issued warnings and one was fined, while 581 establishments were found compliant with precautionary messages.
