Dubai’s latest architectural marvel, the Museum of the Future is one step closer to inauguration after installing its final component and lighting up its facade.
Museum of the Future nears completion
Talk about ‘state-of-the-art’ architecture, the Museum of the Future is characterized by enormous Arabic calligraphy embezzled on a one-of-a-kind oval-shaped structure spanning over 30,000-square-meters and standing at 77 metres tall, situated on the Sheikh Zayed Road in front of Emirates Towers.

Since its development in the early months of 2017, the Museum of the Future drew a lot of eyeballs, fascinated by the structure’s one-off design. Last night saw the architectural wonder get its final component installed, witnessed by UAE Royals.
Sheikh Mohammed and Sheikh Hamdan witness Museum of the Future lighting up
In time for the Museum of the Future’s completion, Ruler of Dubai, UAE Prime Minister and Vice President His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was joined by Dubai Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Managing Director of the Dubai Future Foundation to witness a one-off light show ahead of its inauguration.
In picture-perfect ‘Dubai style’, Sheikh Hamdan shared an image of his father’s popular G Wagon with a backdrop of the Museum of the Future. Check it out:
Aptly named the Museum of the Future, Sheikh Mohammed says the new structure “combines between our authentic Arab culture and far-reaching ambitions,” and is a “global engineering icon” that speaks the Arabic language.
What’s inside the Museum of the Future
It’s fair to say the Museum of the Future will pave the way for a new era of arts in the region. It will play host to exhibitions, an “immersive theatre” and “a themed attraction” that invites visitors to “look beyond the present and take their place within possible worlds to come.”
Facade entirely built by 3D printing
It’s worth mentioning the UAE has taken 3D printing one notch further, with Sheikh Mohammed announcing a whopping 1,024 Arabic Calligraphy panels on the façade were manufactured through the cutting-edge technology.
