Dubai Police arrest man after showing off breaking quarantine rules
We all know a friend on social media who goes to great lengths to brag about their daily life online, even a deadly pandemic cannot stop them from going all out about what’s going on in their lives!
Similarly, a UAE resident who tested positive for Coronavirus took to social media showing himself going against quarantine rules and trumpeting about his move of getting a cup of coffee with people near him.. Very soon, Dubai Police fined him a whopping AED 50,000 and sentenced him to imprisonment, in line with the UAE’s cyber-crime law.
“Not only did he violate home quarantine laws, but he also deliberately bragged about his recklessness and published a video on social media platforms. His irresponsible action provoked public opinion as he endangered the lives of others.”
Brigadier Jamal Salem Al Jallaf, Director of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Dubai Police
