A line-up of locally-known hairstylists are collaborating on a humanitarian project offering haircuts and new makeovers for UAE residents with all the proceeds directed to the Lebanese Red Cross.
177 deaths and 5,000+ injured after Beirut blasts
Thick plumes of smoke filled the Beirut sky on Tuesday, 4th August until a massive mushroom-shaped explosion devastated a whopping majority of its Downtown claiming 177 lives and 5,000 casualties. Viral footage surfaced the internet showing destroyed buildings, roads, shops and vehicles in the aftermath, following a slew of protests and a political crisis as Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab announced his resignation.
UAE in solidarity with Lebanon
Within hours after the blasts, Burj Khalifa lit up its facade in the colours of Lebanon’s flag showing solidarity with victims.
Emir of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also tweeted a message condoling to the death of the victims, wishing the country “patience and solace.”

Lebanese residents welcomed with roses at Dubai International Airport
As if the UAE’s efforts to aid Beirut blasts victims weren’t enough, incoming Lebanese residents and visitors at the Dubai International Airport’s (DXB) Terminal 3 were welcomed by immigration officers with roses.
