A Nigerian couple who gave birth to quadruplets named one newborn baby, ‘Hamdan’ in an ode to Sheikh Hamdan after making a generous AED 800,000 donation to pay their healthcare bills.
Nigerian couple give birth to quadruplets
It was a rare occasion at the Latifa Hospital when 32-year-old Tijani Abdulkareem and his wife Suliyat Abdulkareem delivered four babies. It’s estimated that quadruplets occur once in 15 million live births. However, the couple were billed a whopping AED 800,000 leaving the duo in search for help to pay the fee.
It wasn’t until Dubai Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum decided to help the family by paying the entire hospital fee, leaving the couple in praise and gratitude of his generous gesture.

In a bid to honour the Crown Prince, the couple named one of their sons ‘Hamdan Alexi Tijani’ and a daughter ‘Latifa Marichell Tijani,’ taking inspiration from Dubai Ruler His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s mother.
