Two warehouses caught fire around 3:43 pm last Tuesday. Teams of firefighters and vehicles were deployed from Dubai Civil Defence stations and put out the blaze by 5:30 pm. However, Emirati sergeant Adel Nasser Shah was killed in the line of duty battling the fumes at a warehouse.

Officials from Dubai Civil Defence and Dubai Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum led tributes and condolences for the firefighter’s family and friends. The Crown Prince said, “We ask God for mercy and his family in patience and solace.”

July 2020 has already seen a couple of fiery incidents so far, from a wood factory in Umm Ramool catching fire to a restaurant in Al Qusais explode due to a gas leak and a thick smoke coming out of a residential building in Oud Metha.
