Bus crashed into lorry on Emirates Road
Around 7:10 pm last Saturday, Dubai Police received a call informing about the accident on Emirates Road near Al Nahda bridge. A team of cops and rescue officers were deployed to arrive onto the scene and investigate the accident. A preliminary investigation reveals the lorry suddenly broke down on the third lane of the highway and the driver, along with 14 labourers in the bus, was unable to bring the vehicle to a full stop and ended up crashing into the lorry’s rear body.
Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of Dubai Traffic Police, says four people died on the spot, followed by one seriously injured, two sustained moderate injuries and eight passengers were lightly wounded.
Once again, Dubai Police warns motorists to maintain distance with vehicles ahead of them, adhere to speed limits and avoid distractions while driving.
