Social media has been buzzing since the stroke of midnight as UAE citizens and residents have been flooding birthday wishes for Sheikh Mohammed as he turns 71.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and the Emir of Dubai, has the foremost figure behind Dubai’s transformation from a small deserted town into the cosmopolitan city it is today. Under his leadership, the emirate witnessed iconic projects built like the Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah, Burj Khalifa, as well as a series of projects to boost the economy making it the hub for commerce in the Middle East.

Sheikh Mohammed helping an injured cyclist after a collapse
Last January saw the Al Salam cycling championship undergoing in Al Qudra under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed. One participant, Annan Al-Amri fell on the ground amid the race and the Ruler rushed out of his car with paramedics as he wiped the blood off her chin and offered her water. Check it out:
Sheikh Mohammed’s inspiring “We will win” message
At a time when the UAE was crippled with rising Coronavirus cases every day and quarantine measures stricter than ever, Sheikh Mohammed shared a message, “We will win” with an inspiring video. Have a look:
Sheikh Mohammed joins a school’s virtual class
Just in time when schools initiated virtual classes and online learning at the start of the lockdown, some students from Al Majd Model School in Sharjah were taken by surprise when Sheikh Mohammed joined an online class.
He encouraged pupils to “never stop learning” and says the UAE has “heavily invested in smart learning over the past decade” so that today’s generation enjoys “the fruitful results.”

Sheikh Mohammed’s kind gesture to fund a 15-year-old kidney patient’s treatment
Pritvik Sinhadc, an aspiring astrophysicist and the Middle East’s only recipient of the prestigious World Science Scholar accolade by the World Science Festival (WSF), was diagnosed with stage-four renal failure last year. Things were tougher for Pritvik’s family since his father was stranded in Qatar and gave up his job to return back to Dubai after pleading for help from the Al Jalila Foundation, and the risks of going to a hospital was high given the state of the pandemic.
Sheikh Mohammed stepped in to fund his treatment, sending him a bouquet of flowers, an iPad and a heartfelt letter offering the Ruler’s best wishes.
Sheikh Mohammed inaugurates Route 2020 metro project
While the hotly-anticipated Expo 2020 is delayed by a year, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) completed the 15-km long Route 2020 metro project including seven stations, starting from the Jebel Ali station to the Expo 2020 site, playing host to a memorial inspired by the phrase “I believe in God” in Arabic, from Sheikh Mohammed’s poem, “The Beginning of the Fifty”.

Sheikh Mohammed’s ‘10 Million Meals’ campaign
In time for the holy month of Ramadan, Sheikh Mohammed launched the humanitarian initiative, ‘10 Million Meals’ with a mission “to provide ten million meals or food parcels to communities affected by the coronavirus outbreak in the UAE.”
It turned out, a whopping 15.3 million meals were donated to the Emir’s initiative.
