A lot of people are going to great lengths to stay away from Coronavirus, like staying at home under quarantine or sanitizing the entire apartment, but things went out of hand for a Dubai-based expatriate when made an attempt to disinfect his money by placing it in a microwave.
Burnt money
If there’s one thing most people are saving, it’s money. It’s a sad state of affairs that Coronavirus is claiming people’s lives, destroying businesses and running people out of jobs. In a bid to make a buck, some are getting creative by selling face-masks with designs inspired by emojis, politicians and prominent celebrities, while some are creating and selling DIY safety equipment and a few going viral online by creating content inspired by the quarantine lifestyle.
While the world is saving up on cash, Khaleej Times reports one expatriate in Dubai lost a chunk of his money after burning it in a microwave, attempting to kill Coronavirus from them. While the banknotes aren’t entirely burnt, there are a few visible marks on the sides, tearing off a tiny portion.

Interestingly enough, Dubai Police says it isn’t the first case of destroying money after burning them in a microwave, hoping it will kill Coronavirus. Lieutenant Ahmad Al Janahi says they’ve been dealing with similar cases of late.
