Spending a birthday without family or friends around could be a disappointment regardless of how old you are. That wasn’t in the case of Daniel Slack, however. The teacher received a call by a parents association rep from his school, calling him to come outside his building to collect a birthday card.

Slack told The National it “was quite a celebration” with “about 14 to 15 of my pupils in the cars” lining up to wish him.
