A taxi driver who was recorded drifting on a deserted road has been busted by Sharjah Police with the offence of reckless driving.

Things took quite a downturn for the driver after setting TikTok ablaze with a video of him drifting on a road in the middle of a desert in Sharjah. It only took a couple of hours for police in the Emirate to catch him and arrest him over ignoring traffic regulations and dangerous driving. What’s more, there were passengers in his car while he drifted.
Drifting and stunts are no joke in the UAE
It goes without saying that drifting and performing stunts on the roads are seriously prohibited, putting pedestrians’ lives in danger and neglecting the country’s traffic rules. Anyone caught in the act is subject to hefty fines and imprisonment. Last March saw Dubai Police seize a motorist after filming himself perform donuts on a roundabout in the rains.
