Swirling online rumours of the UAE closing down malls and shopping centres in the UAE have been dismissed by the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP).
Mall closure rumours
There appeared to be a circular with the MOHAP’s logo circulating on WhatsApp and across social networking sites claiming malls and shopping centres are ordered to close again, leading the Ministry to quash rumours, saying the notice was dated on 23rd March, 2020 at a time when the UAE started enforcing strict measures in a bid to combat Coronavirus.
MOHAP advises residents to refrain from sharing fake news and follow authorities’ social channels for news and information.
