Dubai-based expatriate shares ageing father’s story

Sam Dannoura, an expatriate residing in International City, says his 94-year-old father uses an oxygen cylinder for emergencies and was out of supply in the midst of lockdown. He called the Dubai Community Development Authority in search of help and was assigned to a worker, who goes by the name of Jamal.

Dannoura says Jamal was quick to their house and refill his father’s cylinder, and offered to bring more supplies if required followed by a touching phrase, “You are no foreigners here, this is your home and your father is like my father.”

Sheikh Hamdan reaffirms “No one is a foreigner”

Dubai Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum took to Twitter, sharing the emotional message, followed by the lines of Jamal reaffirming UAE residents “in the UAE, we are one family and no one is a foreigner.”
