A temporary field hospital is set up inside the Dubai World Trade Centre’s event halls to curb the growing number of Coronavirus in the UAE.
Field hospital in Dubai World Trade Centre
In response to the increasing number of Coronavirus cases calling for more medical services, thousands of beds and medical equipment are installed at the Dubai World Trade Centre’s Sheikh Rashid, Sheikh Saeed and Sheikh Maktoum halls, turning the venues that once hosted landmark events like Middle East Film and Comic-Con, GITEX Shopper, Dubai International Motor Show and Modesh World, into a field hospital.
3,000 beds installed
Crown Prince of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum inaugurated the pop-up hospital, playing host to a whopping 3,000 beds for treating patients with mild or moderate cases. Anyone showing high symptoms of COVID-19 will be transferred to hospitals. He says “Comprehensive preventive steps have been implemented to ensure the safety and wellbeing of people in Dubai in line with nationwide measures.”
