A senior health official from the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) is confident the UAE can contain the rise of Coronavirus cases in the nation within two-three weeks.

Dr. Adil Sajwani, a family medicine specialist Doctor working with the Ministry of Health and Prevention since 12 years and a member of the UAE’s national Coronavirus awareness team, tells Al Arabiya English “we hope that we will contain the disease in the next two to three weeks,” thanks to mass testings and the national sterilisation program. It’s praiseworthy to mention the MOHAP is conducting 15,000 tests daily, totalling up to a whopping 100,000 every week.

Challenges remain over gatherings and parties
However, Dr. Sajwani calls upon residents to refrain from heading outdoors because some “are still going out, they’re still gathering, some are still having parties,” creating a challenge to overcome the pandemic.
172 new recovery cases in the UAE
On the brighter side, the MOHAP announced 172 patients recovered from Coronavirus, bringing the tally up to 852 cases. However, the update comes with three deaths confirmed, taking the total to 25.
