Coronavirus has claimed its first two lives in the UAE, with the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) confirming two elderly residents passed away due to the pandemic.
Two deaths in the UAE due to Coronavirus
Last night, the Ministry confirmed a 78-year old Arab, who recently returned from Europe, passed away due to a heart attack linked to Coronavirus. The second death was of a 58-year old Asian resident who suffered multiple chronic diseases, including Covid-19.
The Ministry expressed its condolences to the victims’ families and friends. A lot of internet users sent heartfelt messages saying “May Allah have mercy on us and this disease leaves the world without any further harm.”
140 Coronavirus cases in the UAE
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Prevention confirmed 27 Coronavirus cases, raising the total tally to 140 cases. The UAE is taking numerous initiatives to combat the outbreak, with Dubai Municipality disinfecting buildings and enforcing sterilization, and immigration implementing a temporary ban on entering the UAE.
