A student from the Indian High School’s Oud Metha campus has been tested positive for Coronavirus after the pupil’s parent returned from a country affected by the outbreak.

Dubai is experiencing a rising community spread of the Coronavirus and a 16-year-old student from the Indian High School is the latest case confirmed by the Dubai Health Authority. The pupil’s parent returned after travelling to a Covid-19-affected country and began developing symptoms after five days.
The family is now quarantined at a hospital and are gradually recovering. Meanwhile, ongoing exams at the schools have been postponed all the branches of the schools are closed. An SMS was sent out to parents, which reads:
“As a precautionary measure, IHS Group of schools is closed from Thursday, March 5. Detailed circular about exams will be mailed. Your well-being is important. Take care.”Indian High School
Schools and universities ordered to close for one month
Following the student’s case, the Ministry of Education announced a temporary closure for schools and universities starting this Sunday, 8th March. However, private schools are ordered to prepare distance learning courses from 22nd March.
