Thanks to India’s unbeaten run in the Women’s World T20 World Cup, they’ve qualified for the Finals after the penultimate match versus England was abandoned due to rain.
Semi-Final abandoned due to rain
All eyes were on the women in blue as they were set to square off versus England at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) yesterday, but heavy rains shattered the chances of a match and no reserve days were allotted for the knockout match, meaning the team with most wins in the group stage progresses into the Final.
India’s victorious run in the group stage
Group A saw India topping the table winning all the four matches with the highest net run rate, of +0.979. Whereas, England ranked second in Group B winning three out of their four matches, losing to South Africa. Hence, India automatically qualified a Finals berth, thanks to their unbeaten campaign in the World Cup.
