Abu Dhabi’s Department of Health announced the immediate quarantine measures of two hotels in Yas Island after two participants the UAE Tour tested positive for Coronavirus.
Two people tested positive for Coronavirus at a hotel
Five days into the UAE Tour, the only cycling championship’s counterpart in the Middle East, came to a halt after two people were tested positive for Coronavirus. While the hotels’ names aren’t revealed, they’re situated in Yas Island and are located in close proximity. It hasn’t been made clear whether the members are cyclists or members of the respective squads.

Hotels under lockdown for two weeks
Abu Dhabi Government Media Office confirms the Department of Health has enforced quarantine for 14 days and precautionary measures will be taken to ensure health and safety of the guests. A journalist from Velo News who’s in the lockdown claims the teams will receive health reports within a day and a half and outbound flights will be arranged accordingly.
