A line-up of innovators and change-makers gathered at the Ismaili Centre Dubai to spark discussion and exchange ideas at TEDxOudMetha held under the theme, ‘Exponential Impact.’
TEDxOudMetha makes its debut
A platform for knowledge, wisdom and solutions to eradicate ongoing global issues, attending a TEDx conference is beyond a life-changing experience, and dozens of attendees descended upon the Ismaili Centre Dubai to hear TEDxOudMetha’s intellectual speaker line-up deliver ground-breaking talks.
Huge speaker line-up
The inaugural edition featured Dr Salmaan Keshavje, Vithika Yadav, Dr Ammar Albanna, Dr Jennifer Camulli, Steve Derin and Nick Watson mix and speak about an array of topics, from zero tuberculosis to the impact of accessibility and solutions to end modern-day slavery. Here are more details about the speakers.
“Today’s event at The Ismaili Centre is a clear reflection of tolerance in the United Arab Emirates and specifically in Dubai. What we experienced in today’s TEDxOudMetha event was multicultural and diverse at all levels, the speakers created a mosaic, each bringing a different dimension of the theme, Exponential Impact. It is wonderful to see so many volunteers coming together at The Ismaili Centre to give back to the community with a clear understanding of the values, rules and regulations of the wider community. As an Emirati woman, I consider myself as a product of a very well tolerant community which is only 46 years old, the values that we have of tolerance, pluralism and diversity are also reflected in The Ismaili Centre and this allows us all to feel a sense of belonging when we are here.”
