Steve Smith, Ben Stokes, Sanju Sampson and a slew of cricketing stars donning the Expo 2020 logo on their jerseys because the historic event is sponsoring Rajasthan Royals this edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Expo 2020 sponsoring Rajasthan Royals this year
Just in time for the landmark event, Rajasthan Royals and Expo 2020 signed a one-off deal as their principal sponsors this year. As part of the trade, the Jaipur-based franchise’s players will be sporting Expo 2020’s logo on their jerseys, replacing JK Lakshmi Cement.
It’s the second time a UAE-based business is sponsoring an IPL team, after Etihad Airways sponsored Mumbai Indians in the 2014 edition.

Eight months to Expo 2020
One of the most hotly anticipated events this decade, the Expo 2020 is set to host the world for six months presenting the best of culture, collaboration and innovation. It will be held under three main themes; opportunity, mobility and sustainability. Visitors can expect an extensive line-up of attractions including arts installations, variety of cuisines and culinary offerings, events, state-of-the-art architecture, live performances and much more.
IPL 2020 begins this March
Starting on Sunday, 29th March, the IPL will follow with two months of non-stop cricketing action featuring a flamboyant line-up of Indian and international stars, from Virat Kohli to Eoin Morgan to MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma and Jofra Archer.
